BIOGRAPHY

ストックホルムを拠点としている7人組、ローター。2002年からノイズ・バンドとして、インストを演奏。その後ヴォーカルとリリックを担当する、ナタリーが加入。遂に2007年、本格的なレコーディングを開始。5曲を録音した彼らは、シングル・リリースを構想。ところがクインス・レコーズから、オファーを受けることに…。さっそく2008年に、新たな6曲をレコーディング。そうして11曲入りの1st・アルバム、『モンゴルフィエ』が完成。それは熱気球を発明した、モンゴルフィエ兄弟から名付けられた。影響されているのはソニック・ユース、マイ・ブラッディー・ヴァレンタイン、ジーザス・アンド・メリー・チェイン、マホガニー。疾走感溢れるノイズ・ギター、ドリーミーなメロディーとヴォーカル。オルタナティヴとギター・ポップを消化した、シューゲイズの進化形。まるでライヴを体感するような、生き生きとしたバンド・サウンド。スウェディッシュ・シーンに新風を注ぎ込む、かけがいのない存在。特に1曲目の「マロン」は、リアル・インディー・ファンが大絶賛。

Lothar is seven piece band based in Stockholm. They started as a instrumental noise band in 2002, and before long new vocalist and lyricist Nathaly joined the band. Finally they have planned the real recording in 2007, recorded five songs and considered to release the EP. After the recording session, they have got the album releases on Quince Records, recorded six more song and completed their 1st album "Montgolfier" which has taken the name from Montgolfier brothers who had invented balloon. They are influenced from Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Mahogany. The rolling thunder guitar noises, dreamy melodies and vocals, an eternal yearning to alternative and guitarpop, and it's fine band style in the live feeling with very evolution type of shoegaze. Lothar pours the new wind to a Swedish scene as long as the real indie music fans loves an opening song "Malone".
