Paper Moon are six-piece band based in Winnipeg, Canada. The Vinyltones are four-piece band based in Cicinnati, Ohio. Nod to Primal Scream's Southern Rock feeling with more pop style. A refined arrangement somewhere though the music is nostalgic. So there is quote likes of a modern power pop. A songwriting influenced from Beatles, the melodies to be hummed with someone, and a rock'n'roll sound with more warm feeling. 4th studio album 'Paris In A Bottle' is Spearmint's 2nd release with Quince Records and follow-up to the most critically-acclaimed B-side compilation album 'A Leopard And Other Stories'. As one of the producers, Scritti Politti's keyboard player Rhodri Marsden is appointed in some songs on the album. The most sophisticated pop album featured strings everywhere of the album. The songs and the melodies of vocalist Shirley Lee who extends the images as momentarily listening are particularly superior and also it has the playing aesthetics only of Spearmint that digested Soul and Rock. Soundpool is four piece band based in New York. Fresh shoegaze pop that swims in water as appearing in the band name. Electronic arrangements that is reminiscent of New Order, and also a guitar sound influenced from My Bloody Valentine. The songwriting that was inspired by Antonio Carlos Jobim is also fresh. Especially, nods of indie-pop fans to "pa-da-pa-pa-paaa" chorus and Kim's more imaginative vocals. She is a stylist and a designer who takes charge of clothes and properties of the stage. Maybe such a sense has surely expanded the world of the music with Soundpool further more. (1) - more poppy My Bloody Valentine, a wonderful joint of electronic and indie guitar rock. (7) - masterpiece by a shimmering synth with the floatage feeling and an approach to club music style. (9) - highly recommended song to Quince's fans, a nice song that evolved guitar pop a little coolly. Pay attention to not only a video produced by Soundpool, but also the image shown on the background of their live show!
