A male/female duo based in both Brighton and Hamburg recently. Originally, they contributed their talents to a German indie-music scene as DJ outfit and a label owner. However, such two talents well known in the world were The Happy Couple as the band. Their maximum characteristics will be an arrangement that transcended same kinds of other bands and Janehoney's vocals that have both French and punk sensibilities. Everyone nods to Postcard Records, Cherry Red, el records and Sarah label. Otherwise, of course influences from the 60's sunshine pop and Northern soul. Their CD album for the first time is featuring Belle & Sebastian's Stevie Jackson and a remix by Erobique(International Pony). "Song For The Troubadour"(1) - A masterpiece that succeeds early Saint Etienne with combinations of melancholy melodies and groovy rhythms. "The Dream Inspires"(8) - this song is a cover of TV Personalities, and this is Happy Couple's wonderful anorak version! David Lehnberg aka Ariel Kill Him is based in Gavle that is while toward Umea from Stockholm. After spent as a frontman of legendary emo band Leiah, David is playing as a songwriter, singer and guitarist in the indie rock band Ikaros. His solo project Ariel Kill Him is started in 2000. In some of the albums, especially "In The Pyramid" is a masterpiece that goes down to history in the indie scene and 4th album "Named After You" is released to have evolved its previous one. By the combination sounds of electronica and shoegaze, feels the similarities in the success of Scandinavian bands like Mum, Sigur Ros and Mew. California-based three piece band Teaneck. They enchant local indie fans in a dynamic live where the great performance was made use of. With a pop melodies that wants to hum together by everyone, they developed a lot of things via the MySpace and a natural rock sense that seems to be the West Coast is supported to the fans all over the world. This four piece-band based in Eskilstuna, which is town away 100 kilos from Stockholm, reminds us about Electro Pop band such as Phoenix or Squarepusher. Also they have had in bases the progressive spirits like Genesis as all the members are influenced. Shows an approach a little bit different from the Scandinavian movement since Mew, because of mainly featured soulful vocals. The song writing expresses awe-inspiring music different from so-called Rock and Pop, and the creative arrangements are brought as they exceeded the wall of the genre. (13) - a bonus track for Japan only, is harmonizes splendidly of melancholic melodies, guitars, and electronica/dance beats. (10) - an hommage to TOTO, this is suitable to calling as an amazing current AOR music. (2) - as member's desire putting is strong, this feels something as if debut album of Phoenix had been evolved. Such Japanese version of the 1st album added three bonus tracks including a cover of friendly band Jettie, and an amazing instrumental track. Also, there is the absorbed Quince-style artwork. Their music is a cool sound, and the height of love and consideration to music is transmitted in 'Fractures'. An impress album for the today's indie fans!

Male & female duo based in Odense, which is one of three big towns in Denmark that gave birth to Andersen. Rumskib means the spaceship in their mother tongues, and it was named for them. The music mixes the floatage guitars, dizzy melodies and beautiful vocals. It feels the expression of dream pop with the sensibility only in Scandinavia. Jonas Munk aka Manual gave new indie sense through his electronic instrument arrangements. The result has their essence that ties from My Bloody Valentine to Cocteau Twins, and gives an indispensable theme to shoegaze scene. H.S.C.S. is based in a historic harbor town, Southampton in the south England. Maximum characteristics of H.S.C.S. are that Tom particularly plays a wonderful guitar in the UK music scene, Leesey is charismatic existence for a lot of female indie pop fans, Tim plays the undulation base that can't be imagined from his figure and Lewis is a tough drummer who supports an aggressive performance of the band. This 2nd album produced by Justin Callaway(The Delays). Stout original sound that can be performed only to H.S.C.S by H.S.C.S that transcends wall of various genres such as Britpop, Punk, Hardcore, Emo, Alternative, Shoegaze, Guitar Pop and Psychedelic. Correctly indie music scene in 2007 is led to the next directionality by them, and a reformative theme overflows in it. (1) - a great song, an impressive lyrics like "she's standing by an open door. he's standing by a parked car. the engine is running. we must be going now" is reminiscent of Stone Roses' song, "I Wanna Be Adored". (9) - psychedelic keyboards, aggressive guitars, Leesey's cool vocals and Tom's ejaculation voice... obviously indie-hardcore-pop-world only of H.S.C.S. built up. Two bonus tracks are put for Japanese version only, (14) of them is "this is a total shoegazer song" Tom said and splendidly produce the ending of this album. Any song should be dedicated to the listeners in the world with understanding!! A great artwork by Kate Moross as well as the single "Hospital Drama". Santa Dog is based in a bay shore city, Bristol in the west England. To begin with, the band starts by illustrator/vocalist's Rowena and guitarist's Rob Williams, then drummer's Martin joins, and Santa Dog is formed. After a while, Rob Ash joins as a new bassist. Rowena says the history of wonderful guitar pop such as Subway and Sarah label is here. Santa Dog has succeeded the legend of such a Bristol scene, playing guitars like The Smiths or 90's Brit-pop bands and injecting the sense of songwriting and the arrangements influenced from Prefab Sprout. Is there really pure UK guitar pop bands like them now? The songs written by Rowena that considers the good English lyrics that integrates with great melodies is like the short story. A sweet voice is ordinary, but female vocalist who controls the band in a true meaning seems to be valuable. It can catch a glimpse of a true female image with both the powerful and the delicacy. Mixtapes & Cellmates as a shoegaze-pop is the brightest hope band. They are based in Stockholm, four-piece band which plays in some projects, and have signed to Nomethod Records which releases Post-Rock band Aerial. Six songs EP "If there is silence fill it with longing" is released in 2006 and it sounds good DIY-feeling produced as the home recordings. They had a great appeals for both Indie-Pop and Shoegaze, and especially, a noisy guitars and a cool electronics are splendidly united. Their wonderful senses are supported at once by the listeners in the world and 1st album splendidly expressed the talent of Mixtapes & Cellmates in 2007. (1) - a great song with a catnap feeling keyboards, fresh acoustic guitar, driven electronic beats, bitter sweet melodies and vocals. (2) - a harmonies with acoustic guitar featuring harmonix, percussive electronica beats and classical violin are an evolution type of indie-rock or electronica. (9) - aggressive real drum, cool guitars, male & female vocals by Robert and Matilda brings a guitar pop sprits to the fans. They will lead recent indie guitar scene to the next generation though a lot of fans thinks the influence of Cure, New Order, and My Bloody Valentine. Tupelo Honeys is the duo of the twins Joel and Linn and are based in Stockholm of Sweden. Joel plays guitar, Linn plays keyboard, writing the songs together and they bring the song and the performance that feelings who seem to be the brother and sister are suitable. This debut album was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by ourselves. The result totally succeeds Eggstone that they love and everyone will recall the first album of Eggstone. Also, thinks of the hommage to Cardigans, Wannadies and Atomic Swing. However, not only a free desire in 90's but also the current sense is poured. Not only Loney, Dear but also various musicians are friendly performing for the album, "Tupelo Honeys salute you". It might be valuable existence in a recent Swedish music scene, and they are expressing fresh guitar pop. In each song, there is a strange pop like Arcade Fire, a wide variety of styles like Lily Allen, and of course a twin male and female unites a different mode of expression. Listen to three songs on the album here as your reference. "(1) Boy you're all right" is combinations of the mixed voices of innocent the brother and sister and a rhythm of bass and claps, it starts dance, and your heart is stimulated. "(2) Oh what a day" is a bouncing song with the decision as for a release on Quince, the succession song of Eggstone and feels post-Acid House Kings. The Hussy's is based in Glasgow. The new project of James McColl, who broke up Supernaturals. He wanted to try and make a band like the Cardigans, and then Steph of the Starlets joins with James cuz he always liked Supernaturals. The plan was difficult, but they came across Fili in a folk club in Glasgow. She had an amazing voice. After that, Gordy, Greg and Ronnie joins and The Hussy's was formed in 2005. They added "'s" to the Hussy to make it look weird and separate themselves from the clothing line, but it was not grammatically correct. So, the e-mails that pointed it out to them did not discontinue. However, The Hussy's is sure to become a universal language by this mini-album and ｔhe song with the shine that equals it is contained. The Hussy's music is a standard guitar pop that succeeds Beatles and Elvis Costello. 60's Motown-tinged girl pop and Phil Spector, various genres such as punk and ska and the sound making with Scottish mind are also featured. The 4th album of Shane Tutmarc aka Dolour. This is the "live-in-studio" album for the first time and he express the musicianship. The ambitious 19-song set is split up into two parts: "Storm & Stress" and "Hell or Highwater". The first half "Storm & Stress" develops a new stage by the melodious indie-rock, the world of the Seattle music via alternative rock and power-pop, and gives dynamic band sound and vivid vocals. The second half "Hell or Highwater" is the pop world that succeeds to Brian Wilson, includes an American roots music such as jazz, blues, country, folk and more, and both of orchestra arrangements and warm acoustic sound heals the listeners. (2) - the improvisation performance of the guitarist Eric Howk that multiplayer Shane respects is the most powerful result so far that connects The Beatles and indie-rock. (5) - the dramatic melodies and progressive guitars are Dolour's standard, and then the arrangements with chorus is led to grand ending like the Disney. (13) - this condenses the talent of Shane that is called Brian Wilson of Seattle and think of a big band that harmonized a wind instrument and mainly piano. In addition, there are a lot of various great songs such as a soulful indie-rock "An Easy Life", an evolution Dolour style of Weezer "Above That", a pop song with Hawaiian flavour "Lyin', Hidin', Cryin', a sentimental ballade with tears "Been in Love for a Long, Long Time" and more... An amazing real music with greatness and saudade by the musicians. Only this album shows the next theme of indie-rock.

Airiel is four piece band based in Chicago, USA. Popularity from shoegaze fans is acquired starting with the singles from Clairecords, long years are spent, and the first album is finally completed in 2007. It was an impact content for our imagination to exceed really, and the performance of great power that led shoegaze to psychedelic rock. Gorgeous melodies with beauty though the world particularly with the dynamism that makes use of a live sense expresses true pop music. It is very foolish not to feel anything after someone listened to The Battle Of Sealand. Quince appeals Airiel to the rest of the maximum listeners all over the world including Japan through this release. It has a pure desire to the longer activation of a recent new shoegaze scene that becomes a part. This Japanese version includes two bonus tracks and is planned unique triple covers with an inspiration like sea, air, space. Consequently, this work has shot a special shine to forget the authority of past shoegazer albums. Belaire is 4 piece band based in Austin, Texas, and was formed by solo artist Cari Palazollo with twin sister Christa and Voxtrot's Jason Chronis and Matt Simon. They released a self-titled CDEP with the hand-crafted cover in 2005 and released 7" vinyl Haunted Castle in 2006 on Indierect as already sold out. Belaire is completed 1st album Exploding, Impacting in 2007. Japanese version includes two awesome songs taken from their early materials, and created the vivid color artwork to be produced with their bossa nova indie electro pop. Belaire is definitely influenced from Joao Gilberto, Mirah and The Blow, and sounds unique style with latin music, dance and progressive rock. Everything such as a novel beat, lovely toy electronics, and a dreamy chorus led to next generation's indie pop scene helps a relaxed Cari's girlie vocal. (1) - A colorful pop tune with bossa nova sense guitars, cheerful disco beats, and crystal clear chorus work that seems to be Belaire. (5) - Uniting of indie rock and horror movie. Fear, a pleasant groove, and doubtful girlie vocals are characteristics of Belaire. (10) - Heartbreaking melancholic melodies. The orchestration in the latter half is also moving. (12) - A real classical piano and the anxiety chorus are fantastic. A progressive sense to feel shine and shadow. The reformative pop world with pouring deep theme into simple sound. Only this album is sure to play the role to connect with the genre between indie and electronics.

Alcest is based in Avignon, France and formed by Stephane Pau aka Neige in 1999. At first, three members belong to Alcest, and the demo track album "Tristesse Hivernale" is released in 2001. Afterwards, Alcest aims a multi instrumentalist as a solo unit, has released a mini-album "Le Secret" in 2005, and completed 1st album "Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde" in 2007. The album was released through the metal labels mainly in Germany and the USA, but the approach to a different genre was tested in Japan as a lot of the hidden potential. The possibility in Japan is taken as the world to 4AD or Slowdive, and expands to the current shoegaze scene. Some points talked about are a beautiful fusion of a passionate roaring feedback guitar and a lyrical acoustic guitar, the expression only in French and the reformative aims. It makes a soil of the melodies that gives energies to live though a whole album is melancholic. As an arrangement, the chorus by female vocalist Audrey Sylvain also add the extension to its maximum. (2) - this is not only a masterpiece for shoegaze and black metal but a monument that should remain in the history of French Pop. A saudade of French lyrics and a talented guitar harmonize splendidly. (4) - Alcest says "it could be listened at the top of a hill in summertime, while watching clouds passing in a sea-like turquoise sky". The driven noise guitars seems to flush everything. All songs are a long piece at more than six minutes, but there is the height of barrier and the perfection that can be listened without getting tired. The world of the invariability that was able to be expressed because of Alcest that assumes the skill of the classic guitars to be a base. Alcest not only longed for the desire going out of a childhood that actually feels freshly alive every day but also always felt hope from that. Such a theme has been filled in this album.

Keith Canisius is based in Odense, Denmark, already took an active part as the famous male/female duo Rumskib, and then has completed solo album with all his own parts. Jonas Munk aka Manual supported the album perfectly in the best technique that tied to the relation of shoegaze and electronica. It is reformative because of the approach from the guitar-based indie field. For each genre which is still feeling of distance in Japan, the work challenged hard to a pretty deep theme. As an evolution type of dream pop, the album mixed some elements with shoegazing style, blissful guitar feedback, ambient synth, electronica beats, dreamy vocal and Scandinavian delicate emotion. (1) - an awesome nu-shoegaze song which was inspired from Serena Maneesh. It harmonizes splendidly psychedelic guitars, dreamy vocals, and cool electro sound. (6) - this uses Tine Louise Kortermand's voice taken from 'Girl Afraid' on the Rumskib album. It includes mysterious arrangement and melodies recalling The Cocteau Twins and feels a fresh touch of electro coloured sound stronger than Rumskib. (8) - this is Quince's favourite song and brought a final decision to release the album! As well as the album titled "Ferris Wheel Makeout", it imagines scenery that extends to 360 degrees panorama by driven beats, floating guitars, Ulrich Schnauss influences synths. The artwork is not only beautiful but also feels mystery atmosphere. Masterpiece that brings something new to shoegaze scene in all respects.

Secret Shine are a five piece band formed in Bristol in 1990. They were signed to Sarah Records who is best known for its recordings of shimmering guitar pop. Though their existence might have been caught different in the label. They released various singles and 1st album between 1991 to 1995, especially the Loveblind single recorded and released in 1993 is too famous, and it already have been part of the shoegazers as a best band with the pop attitude. A retrospective collection containing all their Sarah material, After Years, was released in 2004 by Clairecords, and probably it brought something to them of dormant. They released two singles on their own label Razorblade in 2006, and finally released the 2nd album All Of The Stars in 2008. This Japanese version that Quince has tried to the double disc for the first time with the double cover art is featuring six bonus tracks: all six tracks from both the Elemental EP and the Beyond Sea And Sky EP. (1) - a masterpiece that symbolizes Secret Shine with the driven guitars and synth, bittersweet male/female vocals, and orchestral arrangement. (3) - this song with the 3/4 rhythm recalls Lush and enjoys the creative performance with a hook drums, distorted guitars and dreamy harmonies. (2) - a teenager pop flavoured song is dedicated to all the guitar pop fans. By listening this song everyone will recall that they were one of the Sarah bands. Kathryn's cute voice also is tears of gratitude. With a 'Shogaze' fantasy album, all lead the listener to the world in the star.

After Quince has released their first album On High one and half years ago Soundpool has since placed themselves in the center of the shoegaze scene. They takes care of various new bands and also organizes their own shows. Last year they joined live tour with Ulrich Schnauss so their evaluations from the well-known artists are rising. Soundpool's second full length album Dichotomies & Dreamland is released in 2008. The album that makes DIY-theme as usual with originality. However, the performance, the recording technology, and the arrangement sense evolve greatly. This shoegaze album has in many ways the classic psychedelic and a post electronica. Soundpool brings more creativity as one of many guitar bands with electro beats. (2) - this is awesome song called "Manchester Rave On". A great shoegaze pop with the psychedelic arrangement and groovy beats. (3) - uniting of cool electronics and nostalgic pop. Dreamy vocals and fantastic keyboards. Because it seems to subside into sleep dreamily and effect sound is sounded, it is pungent. (4) - this song brought a final decision to release again on Quince. The music that butterfly can be imagined flying according to title. Twining keyboards, guitars led from shoegaze to psychedelic, smoothly repeated male/female vocals, and pleasant bassline. (5) - a shoegazing feedback guitars, omnichord that drifts floatage feeling, strong drumbeats and New Order-ish bass. Everything express the world of basic Soundpool music. Two remix tracks by Manual and Ursula 1000 are added as bonus track. Quince's masterpiece with artwork done with the atmosphere like NY!

Heaviness is a shoegaze band based in Stockholm, Sweden. David and Daniel have been playing together as a number of some bands and formed Heaviness in 2004. They spend two years, and produced the self-titled first album "Heaviness". Members have come and gone, then styles have changed suddenly in the middle of recording the album. Emma is Heaviness most recent member and playing bass, cello and vocal. This album released originally in 2006 was self-released through local record shops and online retailers. Especially, the album was highly recommended by well-known Swedish record shop Delicious Goldfish and American distributor Tonevendor. They played at well-known shoegaze event that Club AC30 in London sponsored while they unfolded the fantastic live show characterized in a beautiful image. A bonus track "Curtains Of Rain" that types out new directionality was recorded in 2007 for the album on Quince who has created the new artwork with freshly psychedelic sensibilities. (1) - a representative song of Heaviness that ties My Bloody Valentine and Joy Division. A characteristic sound that flows like magma as everything is melting into together with groovy drums, undulating bass, awake loop chorus and loud feedback guitars. (10) - feeling succession of Kevin Shields, and aggressive reformation guitar. A powerful drumming, violin and cello also expresses the charm of the Heaviness style. (11) - lead of shoegaze into psychedelic, and a great bonus track. David's guitar work that feels talented sense. Though, there is really cool vocal and it is the world inspired from Velvet Underground. Heaviness doesn't forget an importance of songwriting though shooting an experimental atmosphere and is an indie band with much attitude that united the nature conservation activity and music sense.

The first Asian shoegaze compilation in the world that Quince Records planned. It features together sixteen bands from Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Korea, China and Hong Kong. The compilation is including only for the new song, unreleased version and re-recorded tracks. (1) - a new mix of "See Her Fall" by Korean duo The Majestic High. It's a top class song with 12-string guitar like The Byrds and a fresh horn. (2) - the re-recorded version of "Song Without Words" by Japanese 4 piece band Burrrn. A driven song with a fresh chorus work and noise guitars. (3) - the re-recorded version of "cataclysmic" by Indonesian 4 piece band Perfect Angel. A awesome song with clean guitar and dreamy vibraphone. (4) - "Echoes" is an unreleased song by Japanese female solo unit Hideka. A guitar and melodies with floatage feeling are a world like an oriental 4AD version. (5) - "Unperfect Sky" by Indonesian 3 piece band Elemantal Gaze. A clear guitar and charming electronics recalls Ulrich Schnauss. (6) - "Seisou" by Japanese two piece unit Monocism. An arrangement was influenced by post rock and electronica, and a fragile beautiful voice is really amazing. (7) - "Satellite boy" is an unreleased song by Chinese solo unit Daixiaole. A noise guitar was influenced by Jesus And Mary Chain, and her voice is a rarity like combination of angel and satan. (8) - "Strawberry Cream" is the remastered version by Japanese solo unit Oeil. A feedback guitar succeed to My Bloody Valentine, and a harmonies of melancholic melodies is great. (9) - "Tingles And Everything" by Malaysian 4 piece band Witherspoon. An emotional voice that exceeds the scale of Asian bands, and guitar was inspired by Stone Roses. (10) - "Stargazer" by Hong Kong two piece unit The Evening Primrose. A doze sound that harmonizes guitar, synth and harmonica, and his whisper voice is healed. (11) - the re-recorded version of "Sing(half dreaming)" by Japanese 5 piece band Caucus. A soil fragrant guitar with a shoegazing arrangement. The result is perfect. (12) - "Felt So Fine" by Filipino 5 piece band Candyaudioline. A shimmering shoegaze pop that was influenced by Pia Fraus. Feeling the real band style of the high-quality performance. (13) - "Fix Your Eyes On" by Indonesian 4 piece band Sharesprings. A pure guitars succeed to the jangly Sarah label and painful melodies feels heartthrob. (14) - "Great Little Ones" is an unreleased song by Japanese 5 piece band Nanocycle. A driven guitar, groovy beats and sorrow songwriting are moving. (15) - "Love Is So Strange" by Indonesian 5 piece band Everybody Loves Irene. A trip-hop style that was influenced by Potishead evolved to dream pop. (16) - "April And You, March And I" is a new song by Japanese twin brother Cryv. It's a really aggressive combination with noise guitar and electronic arrangement. A new shoegaze scene will be started with Half Dreaming which shows the ability of Asia.
