2nd in a work of Quince Distribution! It is the new project Discover started by Olivier Brion which was frontman of the French band Yachines popular even now. On the basis of 60's pop, such as Beach boys and Beatles, although, it is inspired also from Motown, Curtis Mayfield-soul, and guitar band like Pale Fountains. Sweet vocals which gives the image which is driving the seafront peaceful somewhere, and a fresh sound. A superb guitar-pop album of the touch from which Yachines just evolved into the adult.

Volume five in split CD-EP series from Endearing Records which showcase with U.K. based Spearmint and Canada based Novillero. The result which feels 500 % about the real charm of a split record, we are proud to doing the distribution of this CD-EP in Japan. Spearmint with the melodies, arrangements, and vocals in a British character is felt a preeminent pop sense, it's completely comparable to the recent conspicuous newcomers in the UK. 3rd song "The Beautiful Things" taken from their latest album "A Leopard And Other Stories", and 4th song "A Happy Ending" taken from "My Missing Days". Loveninjas by Tor Helmstein and friends are based in Stockholm. 'Keep Your Love', a theme song for the fans who loves the youth-heartthrobs-pop, well-known AHK also played it before as a cover song. This is 1st album of Loveninjas that grew up from such a debut single, one of the supreme collaboration releases by Labrador and Quince. It pasted the sprinkled dirk-inspired-star sticker and inserted the DIY liner note. If you are a listener who overflows in the indie pop's attitude, you are sure to sympathize. Because the songwriting is first of all wonderful in above all. The pure Swedish sound influenced by A&M leading pop and UK guitar pop. Especially a sweet and sour song, 'Earl Grey with Honey', remind us to East Village. An evolution type of the bossa nova flavoured 60's pop, 'Little Black Friends', is recommended. Of course, other songs also have been condensed a lot of shimmering song. Tor's music world where friendlier is given succeeding to AHK and/or The Legends. The Elephants is a five piece band based in Copenhagen, Demark. They have a self-released single with lovely artwork before and have signed to Tapete Records after that. They release self-titled debut album in Europe while doing live tour with bands who have a common sense in 2007. The characteristic are guitars with surf taste, influence from Swedish pop, and a traditional element. A acoustic sound with violin, ukulele, banjo, lap steel, harmonica, theremin and wood blocks. While featuring such various instruments as trumpet, piano, flute and percussion by support members, they sounds simple feeling that makes use of a street live sense, bitter sweet lead vocal and chorus work with female vocal. Jettie is based in Eskilstuna, Sweden. They are well-known ability band here because a member of The Domus have belonged before. First album "Heading For Mornings" was released in 2004 on Kasual Recordings, soon they got a chance of the US tour with Walking Ashland, and then released same album in the USA. At the moment, Clas Bohman(vocal, guitar) and Anders Gransmark(drums, keyboard, programming) are playing as Jettie, finished the recording of second album "Kites For Charity" in 2007, and released the album in Sweden on Kasual Recordings and in the USA on Eyeball. Quince started the distribution of the imported Swedish version, attached with three different design sticker and lovely liner notes. The song writing of "Kites For Charity" is really great, wrapped warmly listeners, and feel the world of pure and strong. They was quoted as softy indie rock, but the album might exceed categories of any genre. Is there a neutral one like Jettie's music at the moment? (1) - shimmering finger-picked guitar, smoke vocal, and slowly driven drums are harmonized gently. It will be impressed by great song like warm sunlight. (5) - this song was covered in The Domus' first album. For example, if The Domus is the world in the city feeling, Jettie is the world in the country feeling. カナダのトロントを拠点としている、5人組シューゲイズ・バンド。フィヨルドとはフィンランド原語で、氷河の流れによって形成された複雑な湾や入り江を意味する。さらにそれに手漕ぎのボートを組み合わせた名前は、なんて幻想的なのだろう。正しくその言葉のイメージ通り、彼らのサウンドには美しい北国情緒が溢れている。2004年にバンドを結成した彼らは、地元を基盤に数々のライヴ活動を続けていく。そして2006年には自主レーベルから、2つのシングルをリリース。さらに2007年、1st・アルバム『セーヴド・ザ・コンプリメンツ・フォー・モーニング』をリリース。その内容に共感したクインスは、日本に向けてディストリビューション。叙情的な感性を活かした、ステッカーとライナー・ノーツを封入。大まかにいうと前半は静の世界で、後半は動の世界を分かれる構成。前半はシガー・ロスにも通じる幻想的なサウンドで、切ないメロディーを活かしている。後半はダヴズやインターポールに影響されたサウンドで、疾走感やグルーヴを生んでいる。(1)深々と降り続ける雪が想い浮かぶ、叙情的なギター・サウンド。カナディアン・シューゲイズならではの表現が伝わる代表曲。(6)ジョイ・ディヴィジョンをルーツにしながらも、シューゲイズに向かっていく奥深さ。ドライヴ感のあるギター・サウンドに、ピアノをフィーチャーしているところが美しい。木々をモチーフにしたアートワークも、フィヨルド・ロウボードの世界観を大いに広げている。既に日本ではポスト・ロック・ファンも、このバンドに注目。インディペンデットな精神も忘れない、彼らの存在こそカナダのシューゲイズ・シーンのブライテスト・ホープといえるはず。www.fjordrowboat.com
'fjord' in Finnish language is a long, narrow bay with steep sides, created in a valley, carved in a glacial period by a glacier. Then, a word that means 'row boat' as a fantastic name was combined. According to the image of the word, their music correctly bring about beautiful North countries emotion. Well, Fjord Rowboat is five piece shoegaze band based in Toronto, Canada. They formed the band in 2004, joined to several live shows in home town, released two CDEP in 2006 on their own label, and released first album "Saved The Compliments For Morning" in 2007. As sympathized to the album, Quince starts the distribution release in Japan with a lyrical sticker and liner notes. The album is that first half is fantasy touch like Sigur Ros, and second half is more driven style like The Doves or Interpol. (1) - lyrical guitars thinking deep snow. Kevin Wright is Anglo musician well-known as Always. Sarah Nyberg Pergament aka Action Biker is a popular Swedish singer. The Dreamers are a new musical unit by such two talented artist. Sarah and Kevin met at a Swedish music festival and then the pair strated The Dreamers in 2005. The debut album Day For Night was recorded in the UK and Sweden, and was released on Stockholm based label Friendly Noise in 2007. After the preparation for several months, the album is distributed in Japan by Quince in 2008. To make the best use of the artwork with the wonderful sense, the pastel-yellow sticker and the petit liner notes are enclosed into the CD. They are influenced by Stan Tracey, Francoise Hardy, Matching Mole, Anna Karina, Bill Evans, Nara Leao. Just recalls EL label and sees the world of jazz pop and soundtrack. Sarah's voice that loves Marine Girls and Young Marble Giants has the atmosphere of Cherry Red. (5) - the sophisticated bossanova acoustic, but the melancholic result with the modern-taste. (9) - a warm folk flavoured-material, orchestral arrangement, and Sarah's crystal clear voice is expressed in the sensibility only in Scandinavia. There is not colorfulness, but the album that increases the depth whenever time is piled up though. Action Biker is solo unit based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and started by Sarah Nyberg Pergament in 2002. She named her project Action Biker after the C64 computer game. Her single released in 2003 was spoken very highly by indie pop fans in the world. After Sarah met ex-Always' Kevin Wright at the music festival in Sweden, she formed The Dreamers with Kevin and released "Day For Night" in 2007. Sarah evolves the talent as the singer, and is supported by the listener who has the sophisticated music feeling. In 2008, she has released debut album "Hesperian Puisto" as a result. The album is featured with some elements such as the Young Marble Giants' neo-acoustic pop feeling, Tom Tom Club's electro funk, bossanova, French pop and baroque. Moreover, it has crystal clear feeling of Scandinavia artist. (3) - this inspired from a musical movie "The Band Wagon" which is starring Fred Astaire. She is featuring some acoustic style with jazz-flavoured material and lovely Sarah's vocal. (7) - a beautiful harmonies with percussive beats, dreamlike synth, slightly bitter sweet vocal and clear chorus work. It feels Scandinavian cool summer and stirs up some imaginations widely.
